  • Maria De Boer

    Former Director of KW Counselling Services

    I worked in the non-profit sector for 32 years as the Executive Director of Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region and retired in 2017. At Extend-a-Family, I supported the commitment to inclusion and the recognition of the importance of relationships in the lives of those we serve. With a master's degree in social work, I bring first-hand knowledge of the benefit of comprehensive mental health and wellbeing support to the community, and I look forward to serving on the Board of Directors for Camino Mental Health + Wellbeing.

  • Jeff Desbiens

    Former Director of KW Counselling Services

    I have served on the Board of Directors at KW Counselling Services since 2019, recently serving as Board Chair. As a seasoned executive, I bring experience in a broad range of experience across Human Resources, Operations, and Lean Management. I look forward to this new beginning, supporting Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health as a leader in mental health programs and services in the Waterloo Region.

  • Colleen Heinrichs

    I am a CPA with over 20 years of combined experience in audit, financial reporting, and consulting, working primarily in insurance. I bring experience and insight on the practices of strong managerial teams, good governance, developing organizational policies and procedures, and an understanding of financial statements and financial systems.

    I bring a personal passion and commitment to supporting the development of individuals and communities. With an accomplished career background in global organizations, and now owner of Key Element Solutions, I possess skills necessary to define and lead strategic direction, focusing on equity and diversity, while fostering growth and development within the Waterloo Region.

    I am the Director of Strategy and Operations at International Justice Mission Canada. I have worked in the non-profit sector for over 25 years and bring experience in people management, operations, fundraising, marketing, communications, and political advocacy to my role on the Board of Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health.

  • Benton Leong

    Former Director of Carizon

    I am a passionate champion for the wellbeing of people in our community through my volunteer efforts with Carizon, Tiny Home Takeout, various neighbourhood associations and now with Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health. Professionally, I am a serial tech entrepreneur, an angel investor, and a general partner of the Archangel Network of Funds.

    With a background in marketing and a passion for diversity & inclusion and customer experience, I’m excited to help oversee the establishment of the Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health brand within the community and strategically set the new organization up for success.

  • Lori Payne

    Former Director of Carizon

    I have been a part of the Carizon Family and Community Services Board of Directors since 2018, most recently serving as Board Chair. With an accounting designation and specialties in organizational development, quality, and change management, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of global-scale roles in strategy facilitation, business integration, talent development, large-scale culture change, and Lean management. I have been an active community volunteer serving on several Not-For-Profit Boards and Committees.

    Former Director of KW Counselling Services

    As a leader on the Board for KW Counselling Services for the past 9 years and a champion of the unification process, I am excited to serve Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health as we work together to continue to meet the mental health and wellbeing needs of our community. My leadership experience on the Board as well as my professional experience as a CPA serving this community for more than 25 years, provide me with the governance, risk management and financial experience to help the new organization navigate through the opportunities and challenges we will face moving forward as a unified organization.

  • Dorothee Retterath

    I have served as Board Director at Carizon Family and Community Services since 2018. I am a retired Assistant Crown Attorney who was involved in the Family Violence Project and worked as lead Case Manager for Youth Criminal justice cases. During my professional career I had many opportunities to work with local community agencies involved in matters relating to justice and mental health.

  • Wanda Richardson

    I am an experienced Canadian Executive, strategic business leader and life-long community volunteer. My unique work experience spans public, private, and academic environs bringing multiple perspectives to the table. I am an experienced Board Director and Governance expert with an advanced understanding of responsible business conduct including sustainability, ethics, ESG and DEI and their importance to long term strategy execution. I am excited about my position on the Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health Board and look forward to the opportunity to participate in the transition to maximize community benefit of the new organization.

  • Gillian Wells

    I am a Registered Social Worker who brings to this Director role my direct knowledge and experience with the landscape of mental health & community wellbeing issues here in the Waterloo Region. I consistently view and approach problems from an anti-oppressive framework. As a fun fact - I previously worked at both KW Counselling Services and Catholic Family Counselling Centre/Mosaic/Carizon.
