Stronger Together: Embracing a Brighter Future

Over the last few years, our community has been tackling complex issues that lack easy solutions – the rising cost of living, housing instability, food insecurity, racial and social inequities, drug addictions, increased mental health needs, and more. At Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health, this complexity has inspired us to think and respond differently, particularly when it comes to building a brighter future for our communities. We believe things get better when organizations work together, share ideas, and take action. Positive change and progress start with us.

This is one of the reasons we embarked on our exciting unification journey. To respond to the evolving needs of our community, Carizon Family and Community Services, KW Counselling Services and Monica Place became Camino Wellbeing + Mental Health. We know that community challenges can’t be solved in silos. We are committed to working together, building on our strengths, honouring our past, and dreaming big for the future – this has guided our path to unification.

So much dedication and work has been put into making this dream a reality. Our path to unification has taken hard work and has been a collective effort.

All we have achieved so far has been thanks to the dedication and flexibility of our employees, the generous support from our funders and donors, the passion of our volunteers, the involvement of the people we serve, and the commitment from our community partners. We could not have done this without YOU. Thank you!

Camino is our shared commitment to embracing diverse paths, connecting people to the right services at the right time, and supporting our community’s journey to better wellbeing and mental health for all. We are humbled by the tremendous support we have received and deeply grateful for the role you have played in this journey.

This Impact Report celebrates last year’s accomplishments of the three legacy organizations and highlights the impactful work that is happening at Camino right now. We are proud to report a remarkable achievement; over the first three months as a unified organization, we were able to reduce the average waitlist time for counselling services by more than a third. This is just the beginning, and we look forward to all we will accomplish.

Together we are building a connected community where all people thrive. Thank you for walking with us on this journey to wellbeing.
