Client Rights and Responsibilities

Every program participant at Camino has the following rights and responsibilities.

Client Rights
  • Dignity and Respect: To be treated honestly, with respect, dignity, and empathy and without discrimination, at all times.
  • Safety and Security: To receive services in a safe and secure environment.
  • Quality Care: To receive services from qualified professionals that are evidence-informed, culturally competent, and sensitive and responsive to your needs and preferences.
  • Privacy and Confidentiality: Your personal information and records will be kept private, except in situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law.
  • Informed Consent: To be fully informed about your service options, including risks, benefits and alternatives, and to give informed consent before receiving service.
  • Access Information: To access your records, know their contents, and add to your records to correct inaccuracies.
  • Participate in Service Decisions: To actively be involved in decisions about your service or treatment, including setting goals, developing treatment/service plans, and making choices about the interventions you receive.
  • Refuse Service: To refuse or discontinue service or participation at any time.
  • Voice Concerns/Make a Complaint: To respectfully raise concerns, make a complaint, and/or make recommendations about the agency, services received, or your service experience. 
Client Responsibilities
  • Respect Others: To respect the rights, dignity and confidentiality of all Camino employees, volunteers and other clients receiving service.  
  • Provide Information: To share your needs and respond to questions in the most accurate and complete way possible so Camino can provide you the most helpful service options.  
  • Communicate Needs and Preferences: To communicate your needs, preferences, concerns and accommodations required openly and honestly to ensure your service is tailored to your individual circumstances.    
  • Participate Actively: To actively participate in your service, including attending scheduled appointments, engaging in sessions or other programs/services, following the terms of your service agreement/service plan and providing sufficient notice if you are unable to attend a session.
  • Provide Feedback: To share with Camino employees about your service experience to help with our continuous quality improvement efforts.  
  • Provide Payment: To pay any fees for services on time (only applies for fee-for-service programs).
