For parents or caregivers in Waterloo Region who are immigrants or refugees
Connect. Learn. Support.
Parenting in a new culture can be overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. Join us for a welcoming, culturally inclusive group where newcomer and refugee parents can come together to share experiences and support each other.
We’ll explore key topics like: • Emotional well-being and self-care for you and your child • Parent-child communication and strengthening family bonds • Navigating the school and healthcare systems • Embracing cultural differences while supporting your child’s growth • Caring for yourself as a parent so you can better support your family
This group offers a safe space to gain practical tools, find support, and connect with others as you adjust to life in a new country. Learn strategies that will empower you on your parenting journey!
Open to newcomer and refugee parents of children of all ages. Interpretation, bus tickets, and refreshments provided. Happening at the same time as the Fab Kids group.
