The answers were consistent.
Connection. That word came up again and again.
Connection to the people they support.
Connection to a sense of purpose.
Connection to a community that values care and belonging.
As the need for services continues to grow, volunteers continue to show up with care, time, and expertise. They help strengthen Camino’s ability to support the wellbeing journey of individuals, families, and communities across Waterloo Region.
This year is especially meaningful, as 2026 has been recognized by the United Nations as the International Year of Volunteers. Across Canada, volunteers play an essential role in helping communities stay connected, supported, and strong.
At Camino, volunteers contribute in many important ways.
You help children and youth build confidence through mentorship, learning, and positive connection. You support programs that give individuals and families moments to focus, rest, and recharge. You show up week after week to help people feel seen, heard, and supported.
You also help Camino run smoothly behind the scenes, making it easier for people to connect with the services they are looking for. Your time, care, and commitment help bring our mission to life in the community.
We are deeply grateful for every volunteer who generously shares their time, passion, and care. You are a big part of what makes Camino feel welcoming, human, and connected.
Volunteering at Camino is one of the many ways connection comes to life in our community.
