Behind This Door: Fewer Barriers, Faster Connections, Real Impact

At Camino, we believe there should be no wrong door when someone needs to access help.

That’s the idea behind our Wayfinding service, a single, clear path that connects people to the right support, at the right time.

In 2023

When three agencies came together to form Camino, we merged multiple waitlists into one, and created a single point of access to care through our Wayfinding team. In just the first year, we saw a 1/3 reduction in wait times, a major step toward faster, more seamless care.

In 2024

We made even more progress. Our “No Wrong Door” approach ensured program participants could seamlessly access a wide range of services, regardless of where they first connected with us.  Requests for support increased over the year, reflecting not only the growing needs in our community, but also Camino’s expanded reach and the trust our community places in us. And even as requests for services increased, our response time improved, thanks to streamlined processes and a dedicated, expert team.

Then came another milestone.

In December 2024, we launched our new Camino website, a new door, designed with the community, for the community. Our goal? To make it easier than ever for people to find the support they need.

A key feature of the new site is the online referral form, which allows individuals, caregivers, and service providers to quickly and easily request services at any time.

People can also book a time to speak with a Wayfinding team member that works best for them. This reduces much of the back-and-forth of phone calls and helps our team use their time more effectively to support more people.

Beyond the numbers, there are real stories.

People are getting connected faster and more smoothly. Ultimately, this streamlined approach improves access, reduces wait times, and creates a more responsive and user-friendly experience for clients seeking support.

Every call, every click, every visit opens a door. And behind that door is our Wayfinding team helping someone on their journey to wellbeing.
